hanging light & focused illumination
Pendant lighting adds focused illumination and a defined visual point above kitchen islands, dining tables, counters and seating areas. Dazuma offers glass, rattan, crystal, ceramic, wood, metal and fabric pendants in globe, dome, lantern, drum and linear shapes, with styles ranging from modern and farmhouse to industrial and mid-century.
Choose pendant size and quantity according to the surface being illuminated, ceiling height and surrounding furniture. Compare shade diameter, overall fixture height, suspension length and light source before installation. For kitchen islands, consider spacing and countertop clearance. Check each product's material, bulb compatibility, wattage, mounting requirements and any listed dimming features.
Pendant lights work especially well above kitchen islands, dining tables, counters and seating areas. Smaller designs can also add focused illumination beside beds or in compact spaces. Choose the fixture according to the room's function, ceiling height and available clearance.
A common starting point is about 30–36 inches between the countertop and the bottom of the pendant. Adjust the height based on fixture size, ceiling height and sightlines. Always check the product's suspension range and installation instructions.
The number depends on island length, pendant diameter and light distribution. Two or three smaller pendants can provide balanced coverage across a larger island, while a single larger or linear pendant may suit other layouts. Allow appropriate spacing between fixtures.
Consider the table width, room dimensions and fixture shape. A single larger pendant can anchor a compact table, while multiple smaller pendants or a linear design can work with longer rectangular tables. Maintain comfortable clearance and avoid obstructing views across the table.
Dazuma's pendant collection includes rattan, glass, milk glass, crystal, ceramic, wood, brass, metal, copper and fabric designs. Material affects the fixture's appearance, texture and light diffusion. Check the individual product listing to confirm its actual construction and finish.
Some pendant fixtures can accommodate sloped or vaulted ceilings, but the mounting hardware and canopy design vary by product. Check the specific fixture's installation instructions and included hardware before installation. A suitable adapter may be required for certain ceiling angles.
Many pendant fixtures use replaceable bulbs and may accept compatible LED bulbs, while others have integrated LED light sources. Dimming support varies by model. Check the socket type, maximum wattage, LED specifications and listed dimming compatibility for the specific pendant before purchasing.
