Project Overview

Dazuma supported the project with a coordinated outdoor lighting solution across circulation, poolside, landscape, and exterior gathering areas.

This project was developed around the idea that a wellness destination should feel composed and restorative after sunset, not simply brighter. The outdoor environment combines a freestanding spa pavilion, a pool terrace, stone retaining walls, desert planting, and a carefully controlled arrival sequence. Rather than treating the site as a standard landscape-lighting job, the lighting concept was structured in layers—guiding movement, softening architectural mass, revealing natural materials, and maintaining a quiet visual rhythm around the water. Dazuma’s role can be positioned as helping coordinate those layers into an exterior lighting system that feels warm, premium, and operationally disciplined.

From Brief to Final Installation

Project Brief

Brief

Understanding the scope, priorities, and visual direction

We begin by reviewing the project goals, site conditions, space functions, and overall design expectations. This early stage helps define the lighting direction and identify the key performance needs for the project.

Drawing & Site Review

Concept

Translating concept requirements into buildable conditions

Drawings, dimensions, ceiling conditions, and installation constraints are reviewed to align the lighting plan with the actual site. This step helps reduce coordination issues before fixtures move into final selection and placement.

Fixture Coordination

Technical

Matching fixture types, finishes, and placement to the project

Fixture specifications are coordinated according to the design intent, application requirements, and site conditions. Size, finish, light output, and mounting details are considered together to support both visual impact and practical use.

Installation Support

Installation

Supporting clean execution during the installation phase

During installation, fixture positioning, on-site conditions, and execution details are reviewed to keep the lighting plan aligned with the intended result. This stage is critical for maintaining consistency across the project.

Final Adjustment & Delivery

Result

Refining the result for visual balance and day-to-day use

After installation, the lighting is reviewed as a complete environment. Final adjustments help improve visual balance, support the intended atmosphere, and ensure the space performs well in practical use.

Arrival & Parking Edge

A controlled first impression that moves guests from vehicle arrival into a more private wellness setting

The arrival zone introduces the spa through quiet perimeter lighting rather than aggressive brightness. Bollards define the edge of movement, façade lighting gives the architecture nighttime presence, and tree accents soften the transition between parking and entry. This is important in the U.S. hospitality market, where guest perception often begins the moment they step out of the car. The lighting here establishes order, warmth, and confidence without feeling commercial or over-programmed.

· Clarify movement from parking to entry
· Give the property a premium nighttime presence
· Keep the arrival sequence calm and visually controlled

Entry Walk & Landscape Path

A low-glare circulation route designed to guide guests naturally through the exterior environment

The pathway lighting is intentionally restrained, using bollards and small-scale landscape accents to define movement without washing out the site. This approach helps preserve the quiet atmosphere expected in a spa setting while still supporting safe navigation. The desert planting and textured paving are allowed to remain visible as part of the experience, rather than disappearing into darkness or being flattened by excessive floodlighting.

· Safe wayfinding
· Low-glare navigation
· Preserve planting and hardscape texture

Pool Perimeter

A water-edge lighting layer that balances visibility, calm reflection, and nighttime luxury

The pool zone is the emotional center of the exterior composition. Underwater lights create a soft, luminous body of water, while edge lighting and surrounding low-level fixtures provide enough definition for movement and seating use. In a project like this, the goal is not just to illuminate the pool but to make it feel tranquil and spatially anchoring after dark. Dazuma’s role fits especially well here, helping coordinate the relationship between water, paving, architecture, and human comfort.

· Support safe poolside use
· Create a calm reflective centerpiece
· Avoid harsh contrast between water and surrounding terrace

Lounge Terrace & Stone Feature Wall

A recovery-focused relaxation zone shaped by texture, shadow, and warm vertical light

The long stone wall and chaise terrace form one of the strongest nighttime moments in the project. Wall-grazing uplights bring out the depth and roughness of the masonry, while the lounge deck remains comfortable and quiet enough for extended use. This type of vertical surface lighting is especially important in high-end U.S. outdoor hospitality projects because it gives the environment visual scale and material richness without relying on direct overhead glare.

· Reveal stone texture
· Give the lounge zone a defined nighttime identity
· Create depth and softness through vertical illumination
