Project Overview

Dazuma supported the project with a coordinated exterior lighting solution across arrival, façade, pathway, and landscape areas.

This project was developed around the idea that a hotel’s exterior should do more than provide visibility after dark. It should establish identity, support smooth arrival, guide movement intuitively, and extend the brand experience into the outdoor environment. The site combines a formal drop-off canopy, a hospitality façade with strong vertical rhythm, landscaped pedestrian routes, and an open-air courtyard lounge. Rather than relying on brightness, the lighting strategy was structured in layers—arrival, architecture, circulation, planting, and guest atmosphere. Dazuma’s role can be positioned as helping coordinate those layers into a unified exterior lighting system that feels warm, refined, and operationally reliable.

From Brief to Final Installation

Project Brief

Brief

Understanding the scope, priorities, and visual direction

We begin by reviewing the project goals, site conditions, space functions, and overall design expectations. This early stage helps define the lighting direction and identify the key performance needs for the project.

Drawing & Site Review

Concept

Translating concept requirements into buildable conditions

Drawings, dimensions, ceiling conditions, and installation constraints are reviewed to align the lighting plan with the actual site. This step helps reduce coordination issues before fixtures move into final selection and placement.

Fixture Coordination

Technical

Matching fixture types, finishes, and placement to the project

Fixture specifications are coordinated according to the design intent, application requirements, and site conditions. Size, finish, light output, and mounting details are considered together to support both visual impact and practical use.

Installation Support

Installation

Supporting clean execution during the installation phase

During installation, fixture positioning, on-site conditions, and execution details are reviewed to keep the lighting plan aligned with the intended result. This stage is critical for maintaining consistency across the project.

Final Adjustment & Delivery

Result

Refining the result for visual balance and day-to-day use

After installation, the lighting is reviewed as a complete environment. Final adjustments help improve visual balance, support the intended atmosphere, and ensure the space performs well in practical use.

Arrival Court & Porte-Cochère

A structured guest arrival zone designed to communicate comfort, order, and premium hospitality from the first moment

The covered arrival court is the strongest first-impression zone in the project. Recessed canopy lighting provides clarity for vehicles and guests beneath the drop-off structure, while surrounding bollards and façade fixtures reinforce the edge of movement without excessive glare. In the U.S. hotel market, this sequence is critical because it shapes immediate perceptions of safety, service level, and property quality. Dazuma’s support can be positioned around coordinating those layers so the arrival feels deliberate rather than purely functional.

Main Façade Rhythm

Vertical architectural lighting that gives the hotel a recognizable nighttime identity

The long exterior elevation depends on repetition, proportion, and material contrast. Wall sconces and controlled vertical lighting help emphasize the façade rhythm without flattening the stone and wood surfaces. Instead of flooding the building, the strategy relies on measured intervals of warm light that make the architecture legible and elevated. This kind of restraint is what separates hospitality lighting from standard commercial building lighting.

· Strengthen architectural rhythm
· preserve material texture
· establish a premium brand presence after dark

Courtyard Lounge Garden

A semi-private outdoor guest zone shaped by soft circulation lighting, planted edges, and warm vertical surfaces

The courtyard is designed as an extension of the hotel’s hospitality program rather than leftover open space. Curved pedestrian routes, layered planting, and lounge seating create a slower, more relaxed guest environment. The lighting supports that tone through warm path guidance, selective landscape accents, and softly illuminated feature walls. Dazuma’s role can be framed as helping organize this balance between visibility and intimacy so the space feels usable at night without losing its calm character.

· Create a quiet evening guest environment
· define paths clearly
· give the courtyard depth through layered light

Curved Garden Pathways

Low-glare pedestrian guidance integrated into planting and hardscape composition

The pathway system moves guests through the courtyard in a subtle and intuitive way. Bollards provide primary circulation guidance, while planted edges and selected accent fixtures shape the route without turning it into a bright corridor. This approach is especially important in upscale hospitality settings, where guests need clear movement paths but do not want the outdoor environment to feel over-engineered or visually noisy.

Parking Lot Pedestrian Islands

A practical but still refined layer of lighting for movement between parking, sidewalks, and entry

Parking areas in hospitality projects can quickly undermine the perceived quality of the property if they are treated purely as utility space. Here, pedestrian islands, curb edges, and tree groupings help soften the parking field, while bollards and tree accents improve navigation and spatial definition. This is where Dazuma’s coordination value becomes important: maintaining clarity and code-minded visibility without letting the parking zone overpower the hotel’s overall exterior atmosphere.

· Pedestrian safety, parking-to-entry guidance
· quality control across secondary exterior zones
